All on 4 Dental Implants
Technology is always changing and improving in all fields, and dentistry is no different.
The All-on-4 Treatment Concept is one of those groundbreaking advancements.
Though relatively new, All on 4 Dental Implants have become a go-to procedure in the realm of dental surgeries. Many patients have issues with admitting they need dentures because of neglecting their teeth.
We can go into detail at your first consultation about the All-on-4 Treatment Plan. Why not come in to see us at East Village Dental Centre to talk about all the available options and see if the All-on-4 Treatment Concept is a solution for you.
What is All on 4 Dental Implants?
Many patients are unable to have traditional dental implants due to a lack of bone mass in both the upper and lower jaws. The All-on-4 implants are not inserted vertically but instead at an angle.
Due to this, less bone mass is necessary for the procedure. It also means fewer implants are necessary to complete the process. Simply put, only four are needed, which cuts down on the amount of time the patient needs to spend in our Chicago dental office.
This revolutionary surgery was developed by Nobel Biocare. It allows dental implants to be placed quickly and efficiently. They can be placed in one visit.
Patients will leave with a complete set of artificial teeth. It costs far less money than other procedures and involves a single appointment.
All-on-4 Treatment Concept Description
The All-on-4 is a groundbreaking surgical treatment option. It requires only a few hours to go from tooth extraction to cleaning bacteria from the soft gum tissue and then to place the implants in only a single appointment.
One of the biggest benefits is the lack of additional surgeries to provide a supportive structure. In many cases, patients who have limited bone structure in their jaws need to have bone grafts to build it up.
However, it is not needed, as the All-on-4 process is far more reasonable. All on 4 instantly restores lost function and lost teeth and normalizes the appearance of the patient's face.
All-on-4 Treatment Solution
For those patients who have either lost all of their teeth or are in the process of having the remaining decayed teeth extracted, this surgical procedure can both improve their oral health and their overall appearance. It is an optimal solution.
Even if patients have been told they could not have dental implants because of minimal bone mass, this option will work for them. The All-on-4 surgical treatment will not only restore lost tooth and jaw functionality but also maintain a low cost.
Those patients who have struggled with the typical discomfort of traditional dentures will be delighted with our All on 4 dental implant procedure. There is no discomfort, and they will fit perfectly in their mouth.
Teeth in a Day
Advanced dental implant technologies can speed up the process for patients and help dentists to deliver accurate diagnoses and precise dental implant placement for the most successful treatment outcomes.
Here at our office, in addition to the All-on-4 Treatment Concept, we are able to offer several types of dental implants to our patients to help them regain a full set of teeth.
Teeth in a Day allow you to get a new set of dental implants in just one appointment. Teeth in a Day are used to replace an entire arch of teeth, either the upper set or lower set. Four to six dental implants are used, rather than one implant for each tooth that needs to be replaced. These implants become the anchor for a bridge or overdenture.
The biggest complaint about traditional dentures is that they slip out of place and make it difficult to speak or eat without worry. While they may be notorious for this, Teeth in a Day offers another viable tooth replacement alternative.
This overdenture is a denture supported by dental implants. The supportive structure of the dental implant allows it to secure the artificial teeth in place. We will secure the dental implants permanently to your jawbone to provide an anchor for the overdenture. This will eliminate the need for any adhesives and ensure your artificial teeth will not slip.
Initial All-on-4 Procedure
We typically use local anesthesia to help the patient deal with any discomfort or mild pain that may occur from the procedure. Once the patient is comfortable, we will make a tiny incision along the gum line to expose the jawbone so we can drill into it and secure the dental implant. Once the implant is placed, we close the incision and allow it to heal properly.
The digitally manufactured dentures are then placed on the dental implants and secured to the framework. We are able to adjust them once they are in place. Once in place, they can be brushed just like the patient's natural teeth.
What Are the Types of Dental Implants?
We can determine which kind of dental implant
best suits your needs once we perform an examination
and assess your situation. You will need to come into our office for the assessment by one of our experienced Chicago dentists
One type of dental implant is known as a bar-retained denture. This involves the use of a metal bar which is secured to the implant which is embedded into the jawbone. There are typically metal clips attached to the denture to allow them to be clipped onto the permanent implant to prevent any slippage.
The ball-retained denture is the second type of implant supported denture. Small sockets are used to connect the denture to the implant.
